Biography
Cynthia J. Corbin is an experienced health care, human service, and management professional with over 40 years of professional experience. She has held numerous leadership positions in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Her specialty is management consulting, organizational assessment, board development, staff development and training. The primary goal of this work is helping people and organizations adapt and thrive in an ever-changing outcome-focused environment. Currently, she is Alvernia's director of the MSW program and a faculty member in the Master of Social Work Program. Other responsibilities include Adjunct Professor at Widener University Center for Social Work Education. Corbin is President and CEO of Corbin Consulting LLC, from which she operates a small clinical private practice and provides business and management consulting services.
Corbin is married to her high school sweetheart, Kevin, and they have a 23-year-old daughter, K’viah-Cynae.

Previous work experience includes positions as therapist with Senior Care Therapy, adjunct faculty at Rutgers University, School of Social Work, Temple University School of Social Administration, administrative director of Advocacy and Outreach Services at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, director of Clinical Resource Management and Social Work at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, director of Case Management at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, director of Social Work and Discharge Planning at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and director of Social Work at Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation Hospital and Springfield Residence.
Corbin is a Past President of the PA-National Association of Social Workers (NASW), former Chair of Past Presidents Council for Pennsylvania Chapter of National Association of Social Workers. She has served on the NASW Competence Certification Commission, Awards Committee, Professional Standards Committee, and Audit Committee.
Professional affiliations and community service include: Governor-appointed member of the State of Pennsylvania’s Children and Family Services Cabinet as well as the Pennsylvania Commission for Organ Donation, Interim Headmaster and Chair of the Board of Directors for Timothy Academy, Lecturer for Philadelphia Biblical University Social Work Chapel, President of the Lighthouse Inc. Board of Directors, and a, the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania Society for Social Work Leaders in Health Care. She is past President of Temple University School of Social Administration Alumni Association, past Chairperson for the Society for Black Social Work Administrators in Health Care. Corbin also served as the Administrator of Suburban Bible Institute, Holy Temple of Deliverance, Church of the Firstborn and Victory Temple.
