The Total Experience Learning® (TExpL®) Institute at Alvernia University immerses educators in TExpL methodology, an award-winning experiential learning philosophy. Our methodology provides educators with the framework they need to take an innovative approach to learning. With this hands-on approach, students and learners feel engaged and empowered to pursue their interests and passions, while meeting today’s extensive learning standards. Learners develop confidence and personal agency as they see their work come to life, all while positively impacting and collaborating with local community members.
Total Experience Learning, which joined the Alvernia community in July 2024, is designed to reignite and reenergize curriculum while supporting effective instruction through advanced project management training. TExpL creates a personalized learning experience that allows educators and administrators to engage in transferable strategies through collaboration and co-construction of knowledge.
With more than 80 supporting organizations around the United States, TExpL is committed to the mission of revolutionizing education through interdisciplinary learning experiences that encourage inquiry, ingenuity and agency, providing learners and educators with measurable personal success.
“My classroom culture is changing because of the implementation of the TExpL "Conditions for Success" in several ways. I now introduce students to the methodology at the beginning of each course and let them know that some aspect of have been incorporated into each one of my lessons. For examples, something as simple as giving every student in the class a chance to speak on a discussion topic. Each student knows that they matter and what they have to say matters.” — Sean Gaston, Fleetwood Area School District educator
