Alvernia, I-LEAD, Inc. and Harcum College offer bachelor's degree pathways at Deliverance Evangelistic Church

Alvernia University, Harcum College, I-LEAD, Inc., announced a new partnership that allows residents of North Philadelphia to earn a bachelor's degree through courses being held at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in a press conference and reception event.

"This partnership solidifies Alvernia's commitment to expansion in the Philadelphia market by meeting students where they are," said Alvernia University Vice President for Graduate and Adult Education Gaetan T. Giannini, Ed.D. "We are grateful for the partnership and hospitality of Deliverance Church and the union of I-LEAD and Harcum College in creating these new education pathways."

Alvernia has operated in a single location in Philadelphia since the late 1990s, and this unique partnership is the first of several planned changes for expansion in the market. The partnership provides affordable tuition, an accelerated format, convenient location and scheduling and a supportive environment for working adult graduates from the North Philadelphia community.

"We’ve seen the profound impact on the lives of our over 200 graduates who have obtained their degrees through the partnership with Harcum College, I-LEAD, and Deliverance Church,” said ILEAD- Inc. President and CEO David Castro. “We look forward to continuing to nurture this relationship through the addition of Alvernia and the new educational pathways they will offer graduates.”

For over 20 years I-Lead USA has delivered two-year associate degree programs through a partnership with Harcum College for students from North Philadelphia in learning spaces at the church.

“We want our community to know that it is never too late to get an education, and you’re never too old to learn,” said Deliverance Church Senior Pastor Rev. Glen Spaulding.

The expanded partnership with Alvernia University will offer a pathway for these graduates to pursue Alvernia bachelor's degree programs in social work, criminal justice and business administration.
