University declared as Berks County’s Who’s Who amongst colleges/universities
Alvernia University has been recognized as the Berks County college or university in the 2023 People’s Choice Who’s Who in Business listing for the fourth consecutive year.
“Alvernia’s faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners play an integral role in successfully creating an extraordinary regional, comprehensive university serving eastern Pennsylvania,” said Alvernia University President John R. Loyack. “Our inclusion in this listing is a testament to our community impact created by partnerships that aid us in our mission to serve the underserved in our communities and be an educational pillar for our students through the Reading CollegeTowne initiative.”
The People’s Choice is an annual scientific survey that reaches out to thousands of Berks County residents to ask about their experiences. That information is used to determine which businesses and organizations have fostered positive consumer relationships over the years by providing valuable services and displaying a commitment to quality.

This academic year, Alvernia university was ranked as a national doctoral university by U.S. News and World Report. The university was also recognized by Colleges of Distinction in nine categories including its business programs, nursing programs, career development efforts and military support was named a 2022-23 national, Catholic and Pennsylvania College of Distinction.
