Students in the Healthcare Science Surgical Technology Track will receive a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Science from Alvernia University and a Certificate in Surgery Technology that allows professional licensure from the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the Surgical Technologist National Certification Exam from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
The AMH/MACC degree is designed for students who wish to become ethical professional counselors skilled in treating mental health and addiction disorders. The AMH /MACC program’s mission "is designed to develop professionally ethical practitioners trained within the Franciscan tradition of Alvernia University to promote social justice, dignity and respect for all human life within the community."
Alvernia University's Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Dual Major prepares students for careers that make a difference. Alvernia's Social Work courses offer a rigorous, caring and inclusive learning community, preparing you for employment or for graduate studies. As a biochemistry major at Alvernia, you’ll learn more than what is contained in textbooks. You’ll experience “real-world learning” that will enable you to link your classroom experiences to the larger community and the world. In addition, Alvernia partners with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to offer an early acceptance program for students who quality to enter the college’s School of Dental Medical, School of Pharmacy or Medical College following completion of their degree at Alvernia.
The RN to BSN Completion program is for registered nurses who have successfully completed their pre-licensure degree. It caters to graduates of diploma or associate degree nursing programs, whether new graduates just taking the NCLEX-RN examination or experienced RNs. The BSN is widely considered a requirement for RNs seeking broader professional responsibilities and career opportunities.
Students can complete the program in one year, or proceed at their own pace.
