International Experiences
Alvernia's transformational Experiential Learning offerings take learning outside of the classroom to new levels. Many of the unparalleled hands-on experiences take place on or near Alvernia's locations, but some occur well outside of that radius, in countries like the Dominican Republic, Ireland and China. Study Abroad programs and Alternative Breaks teach students about new cultures while helping to serve the underserved.
Using the globe as a classroom
Hands-on learning opportunities send students to Italy, Belize, China and Ireland, with more to come.
Pilgrimages explore university's genesis
Alvernia reconnects with its roots through its Assisi Pilgrimage program, which offers 10-day journeys through Assisi and Rome. Faculty, staff, and students can traverse the paths walked by Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi.
Study Abroad
Alvernia offers a variety of programs that present students with the opportunity to engage in new culture while studying abroad, enroll in courses that provide a new understanding and leave the world in which they are familiar.
Alternative Breaks
Alternative Breaks are weekend and week-long service and immersion trips that inspire and empower students to lead lives dedicated to serving the underserved, promoting peace and justice and working toward the common good.
