Robin R. Zappin, PT, Ed.D

Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy

Robin R. Zappin received her PT degree from Boston University, her Masters from New York University and her Ed.D from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to coming to Alvernia, Dr. Zappin was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Long Island University. Dr. Zappin has treated patients in a variety of settings including: acute care, post-acute care, outpatient, private practice, and home care and is currently a per diem physical therapist at Chester Crozer Burn Center in Chester Pa.

Prior to relocating back to Philadelphia, Dr. Zappin's clinical and research interests were in Burn rehabilitation and teaching. Dr. Zappin has 7 peer reviewed publications and has presented numerous times at various Medical and Physical Therapy conferences. Dr. Zappin has also presented her research internationally to the World Congress of Physical Therapist in Yokohama, Japan. Dr. Zappin has been awarded the Salant Award for Clinical Research from the New York Physical Therapy Association.

Since 1994, Dr. Zappin has been lecturing on Burn Rehabilitation to physical therapy programs in the tri-state area and has been involved in teaching continuing education lectures and workshops. Dr. Zappin is married with two children and enjoys doing her Ashtanga Yoga practice, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors with her family.
