Travis A. Berger, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Business

Travis Berger is an Assistant Professor of Business and Leadership at Alvernia University, where he has taught since 2005 and is the Managing Partner of Vide Consulting Group, LLC, a regional leadership and management consulting firm that he founded in 2012.  He is a featured writer for the Reading Eagle’s Business Weekly, where he regularly contributes to the ‘On Leadership’ column.

Berger designed, developed, and managed Alvernia University’s Masters in Organizational Leadership (MOL) program that was launched in 2014 and was instrumental in transforming the MOL and the Leadership for Sustainable Communities programs into the current combined program, the Masters in Leadership Studies.  He also played an important role in launching the 1st Annual Pennsylvania Leadership Studies Conference, hosted by the PA Sociological Society.

As a teacher, Berger consistently earns high ratings by his students and he routinely teaches executive education seminars and workshops.  He delivers keynote addresses on leadership, pursuing personal excellence, and becoming a high performer and speaks about strategic talent management, leadership, and strategy at professional conferences.  His current research focuses on the pragmatic intersection of leadership and organizational strategy, servant leadership, and power, strategic talent management, meaningfully embedding organizational core values, and organizational high performers.  He regularly presents his research at academic conferences, such as the International Leadership Association.

Berger was a scholarship athlete on Penn State’s Men’s Soccer Team where he was part of history, winning the first Big Ten Championship for a men’s team at Penn State.  He earned Big Ten First Team and Academic All-American honors and served as captain his senior year.
