The Spiritual Life Pillar fosters a sacred encounter that encourages the university community to explore their own identities and call to faith. This pillar highlights our ecumenical spirit, specifically through our partnership with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, an SGA sponsored club on campus. These are some of the opportunities we offer students:

Retreats:

  • First Year Serve: This is a service retreat that is open to Freshman. During this weekend we volunteer at St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia, which provides meals to people experiencing homelessness. The service is accompanied by reflection, making this a unique experience.

  • Retreats: During our student-led retreats, students are able to take a step away from the chaos of everyday life to reflect on where they are at on their journey. There is a focus on relationship building and an intro to spirituality. This is encouraged and nurtured through various talks, small groups, and activities. It is open to all faiths, but contains a Franciscan emphasis.

  • Busy-Person: A Busy-Person retreat is one that understands that you might not be able to take a whole day or weekend away. This retreat is designed to have individuals do reflections throughout the week and then meet with a spiritual guide once a week for a month. This can help you to incorporate more prayer and reflection in your daily life.

Small Groups:

  • InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

  • Brew Crew (Men's Spirituality Group)

  • Interfaith Coffeehour

  • Catholic Fellowship Group

Agape Latte: Many campuses across the country host Agape Lattes. This is a coffeehouse speaker series that invites faculty and staff to share their stories of faith and love in their lives with students.
