Established in 2018, the Alvernia University Women's Council reflects the needs and aspirations of women within the community.

Alvernia's 30+ teams provide a personalized learning environment with equitable participation opportunities for student-athletes to develop their leadership potential.
- Experiential Learning

- O’Pake Institute Programs
The O’Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship creates public and private partnerships that develop a talent pipeline needed to aid business growth in the region.

In these courses, students develop a research project with a faculty member of their choice.
- Student Undergraduate Research Fellows (S.U.R.F.)
The Student Undergraduate Research Fellows (S.U.R.F.) program is an opportunity for student fellows to experience scholarship, research or creative process in collaboration and as modeled by faculty scholars.

- Accessibility Mentors
The Office of Accessibility Services offers accommodations for students with chronic illness, temporary medical conditions/sports injury, pregnancy/nursing or a disability.
- Athletics
Become a leader on one of Alvernia's 30-plus teams.
- Campus Activities Board
This student-run organization offers a wide variety of activities and events for the Alvernia community's enrichment.
- Golden Guides
Alvernia's Golden Guide Student Ambassadors offer tours of campus to prospective students and their families, alumni and faculty/staff candidates.
- Orientation Weekend Leaders
The Orientation Weekend Leader team welcomes our incoming students during New Student Orientation Weekend.
- Peer Tutors
Peer tutors offer a wide range of support including in-person and online as well as individual or group sessions, Supplemental Instruction for challenging courses, study groups and extended test review sessions.
- Resident Assistants
Residence halls provide students with opportunities for group interaction and development of leadership skills through student staff positions, themed and affinity communities, and hall/floor programs.
- Reading Youth Initiative
The Reading Youth Initiative aims to promote continued education, mentoring and support for healthy choices in children who live or go to school in the Reading area.
- SEARCH Peer Mentors
SEARCH, Alvernia's distinctive general education program, prepares students for lifelong learning, professional success, ethical leadership and meaningful citizenship.
