Biography

Dr. Sharon Strohecker joined Alvernia University in August of 2021 in the role of Program Director of the MBA Health Care Emphasis Program. Dr. Strohecker has over 40 years of experience in various healthcare positions, with the last 25 years in administrative leadership roles. Through the many years of experience, Dr. Strohecker has led, developed numerous nursing units, and established a strong Shared Governance model to support the nurses and their professional practice. Under her leadership she has initiated and operationalized an open-heart program, spearheaded several successful accreditations and reaccreditations, including a Primary Stroke and Heart Failure accreditation, Mission Lifeline and Centering Pregnancy. She established and led a Culture of Safety Program and numerous quality improvement initiatives. Dr. Strohecker was instrumental in the execution of several capital projects to include the development of a hybrid cardiology lab and installation of an linear accelerator for radiation oncology. She also successfully implemented a surgical robotics program.

Dr. Strohecker is a Registered Nurse and received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain College with a focus on Health Care System Leadership. She obtained her Master of Nursing Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also board certified as a Nurse Executive.
