The Office of Mission & Ministry at Alvernia University provides opportunities for students, employees and alumni to respond to God's call by engaging in a community of faith, pursuing a life of service, and advancing peace and social justice initiatives in our community and in the world. While rooted in the spirituality of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Roman Catholic Church, the Office of Mission and Ministry recognizes the Christian call for inclusiveness and welcomes persons of all faith backgrounds, encouraging a spirit of ecumenism and inter-faith dialogue.

The Fromm Interfaith Award
Alvernia University, with Michael and Susan Fromm, in the Fall of 2012 established the Fromm Interfaith Award. The winner of this award will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Students entering their junior or senior year in the 2025/26 school year are eligible to apply. Students must demonstrate an interest in the area of interfaith dialogue and submit a plan for a project or program that they will implement during the upcoming academic year. If you have questions about the scholarship or a project idea, please reach out to hasna.bahar@alvernia.edu. Applications are due no later than Friday, February 18, 2026.
