Alvernia joins cooperative of higher education institutions

Despite the importance of getting a degree, many adults delay or avoid the decision due to the difficulty of finding time to attend classes while juggling a family and a career. Alvernia University is working to make that achievement more possible in a demanding world.

Alvernia has joined Montgomery County Community College (MCCC)’s University Center partnership of higher education institutions to expand advanced-degree opportunities for students, employees and community members. The collaboration provides affordable tuition, an accelerated format, convenient scheduling and a supportive environment for all students, especially working adults from the Montgomery County community. The programs are available for full-time and part-time students.

Alvernia is offering 11 online programs, including eight bachelor’s degree programs, three master’s degree programs and one certificate program through the partnership. On-site cohorts for bacehlors degrees in Business Management, Healthcare Administration and Healthcare Science will begin in fall 2024.

MCCC alumni and employees are eligible for a 20% tuition discount if they meet all admissions requirements.

MCCC’s University Center offers advanced degrees – bachelor’s, master’s and certifications – on its Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses and online through its collaborations with local colleges.
