Dr. Serapiglia’s research area is in bioenergy crop production and biomass composition. She is interested in how the environment and various management practices impact crop growth, biomass composition, and quality for conversion to biofuels. One of her key research areas is in developing new analytical methods to evaluate woody biomass and perennial grasses. She is also working on developing research to evaluate the use of bioenergy crops as agricultural buffers.
