Psychology student Hailey Butler in front of a building

Hailey Butler

An Internship at New Story School, a school for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, has added a rich dimension to Hailey Butler's '20 studies in Psychology at Alvernia University. Hailey works with six students ranging in ages from 10 to 13, assisting with academics, monitoring their behavior and providing overall support.

"I love my internship. I've bonded with the teachers, aids and students on a personal level." Hailey says, adding that she's learned much about Autism, which will be useful in graduate school and in her career.

"I hope to be a licensed school psychologist working with children who need specialized care. I want to give these students a positive academic experience and help them reach for their dreams."
