Real-World Learning Opportunity With Industry Leader

Robert Kelly, a current MBA student and graduate assistant in the University’s Franco Library, is immersed in real-world learning as an intern at Carpenter Technology, a national leader in high performance specialty alloy-based materials and process solutions. Placed in a highly visible business management office (BMO), Kelly and his team work to troubleshoot, analyze and improve the operating model from raw material to finished product. Kelly is gaining invaluable experience in tracking the cost of poor quality, performing waste observation and implementing a standardized workflow.

Recommended by his professor, Dr. Tammy Gore, Kelly appreciates her assistance in obtaining what he refers to as an incredible internship. “I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than this!” Kelly will graduate from the MBA program in December of 2018.  While Carpenter has expressed interest in Kelly post-graduation, he is exploring all opportunities with a future wide open for success.
