Biography

Soprano Jennifer Michalik received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from Michigan State University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University. Her honors include scholarships, awards, and assistantships from both universities. Jennifer is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and has fellowships with the Opera Festival of the South and Aspen Music Festival. She has been a soloist with area and regional groups, singing oratorio and operatic roles in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and Harrisburg among other locations. She has participated numerous times in the Carnegie Hall Professional Choral Workshop and is also a member of the Lancaster-based Wheatland Chorale. Jennifer has worked as a music therapist in Berks, Schuylkill, and Carbon counties, serving the seriously mentally ill, developmentally disabled and geriatric populations. Previously a member of the music faculty of Marywood University, she now serves as Assistant Professor, Artist in Residence, and Director of Vocal Activities at Alvernia University.
