- Education Department Mission
-
The Education Department, rooted in a proud Franciscan heritage, is dedicated to providing instruction in educational theory balanced with current classroom practices. Our education programs focus on a values-centered approach toward the preparation of caring, highly-qualified candidates uniquely prepared to address the needs of the diverse populations in today’s schools.
The Education Department offers programs for a broad range of educators, from aspiring to licensed teachers to educational administrators. Prepare to transform children's lives and advance your professional career by pursuing a bachelor's of education degree, teaching certification, master of education degree, or superintendent's letter of eligibility. All programs are accredited by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education.
Our education professors offer students their experience in PK-12 and higher education, innovative instructional approaches, educational research, and inspiring mentorship. We are here for all educators - aspiring, novice, and seasoned - who come to Alvernia's education programs to grow as ethical leaders with moral courage to do well and do good.
