English as a Second Language (ESL) Program Specialist Certification
The ESL Program Specialist Certification Program prepares PK-12 educators to effectively teach linguistically and culturally diverse students. The program's comprehensive and rigorous coursework is grounded in teachers' needs and emphasizes practical applications in classroom contexts.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Certification Curriculum
The ESL Program Specialist (PK-12) Certification curriculum includes 5 courses (16 credits), 20 hours of fieldwork, and 40 hours of internship. Up to 6 graduate credits from another university may be transferred upon approval of the program coordinator.
M.Ed. with Special Education Certification Curriculum
The Master of Education with Special Education Certification (Grades PK-12) curriculum includes the coursework in two areas: special education courses and core master of education courses, total of 45 credits with field experiences, pre-student teaching, and 210 student teaching hours. Up to 6 graduate credits from another university may be transferred upon approval of the program coordinator.
Early Childhood Education (PK-4) with Special Education Certification
Thirteen percent of all children in public schools receive special education services due to conditions such as learning disabilities, social or emotional disorders, or autism. The Principal Certification (PK-12) program is the for educators who seek to make a difference in education through taking leadership positions. The program prepares teachers and supervisors to meet the Pennsylvania Principal PK-12 Certification requirements.
Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility
This is a 4-course program (there are an additional 3 credits that comprise the apprenticeship) and it is designed for PK-12 administrators seeking certification to excel in the superintendent role.
