The MBA with Healthcare Emphasis was crafted by — and is taught by — veterans of the industry, including Program Director Dr. Sharon Strohecker, who brings over 40 years of experience in various healthcare positions to the role. (Alvernia also offers an MBA with a concentration in business management.)

Program Overview

Curriculum

The Master in Business Administration (MBA) with Healthcare Emphasis degree curriculum is 30 credits. Students who are not business majors may be required to take additional 9 credits depending on your academic background.

Alvernia business MBA faculty bring strong academic credentials and real world expertise. The MBA programs offers six accelerated seven-week terms a year. Students can work at their own pace with the opportunity to finish in one year.

  • Culminating executive leadership capstone synthesizing the  skills and knowledge acquired throughout the program into practice.

Experiential Learning Opportunities
  • In the John R. Post Center at Reading CollegeTowne, our business lab and Bloomberg Terminals provide financial real time, historical data, market moving news and analytics.
  • The O'Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship offers resources to students and businesses to assist with economic development. Students interested in starting a business or securing a patent have access to the O'Pake Institute business incubator. 
  • Customized skills are put into practice with a final project in the capstone course Executive Leadership Seminar.
