The Application Process

Our warm Alvernia attitude extends to the ease of applying for admission. Once you have decided to apply to Alvernia University, there are several ways to do so, and our supportive admissions staff will help along the way. Students seeking admission to Alvernia may apply anytime after their junior year in high school.

All candidates should submit the following:

Complete an online or paper application.
Your application should be accompanied by a non-refundable $25 application fee.
Call our office to request an application by mail. Apply Online Now

Provide an official high school transcript or GED.

Provide an official report from the testing agency of combined
SAT or ACT scores.

Provide two letters of recommendation. This is only a requirement
if you are applying to Alvernia’s Nursing Program.

Provide a copy of form DD214 from military if applicable.

The Application Process

Alvernia is a transfer-friendly school. Our warm Alvernia attitude extends to the ease of applying for admission. Once you have decided to apply to Alvernia, there are several ways to do so, and our supportive admissions staff will help along the way. We have a transfer counselor dedicated to easing your transition.

All candidates should submit the following:

Complete an online or paper application
Your application should be accompanied by a non-refundable $25 application fee.

Provide an official high school transcript or GED.

Provide official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

Provide an official report from the testing agency of combined
SAT or ACT scores.

Provide two letters of recommendation. This is only a requirement
if you are applying to Alvernia's Nursing Program.

Additional Requirement Please provide a copy of form DD214 from military if applicable

We have an admissions counselor dedicated to working with all of our international applicants to help you through the admissions process.

All international candidates should submit the following:

Complete an online or paper application
Your application should be accompanied by a non-refundable $25 application fee. Call our office to request an application by mail.  Apply Online Now

Provide official secondary school transcripts (or GED) and all post-secondary school transcripts

Provide an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report if English is not your first language.
Register for the test online.

Provide a completed World Education Services, Inc. evaluation of all transcripts.

Alvernia uses the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to facilitate compliance with regulations set forth by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).

Notification of Admission International applicants are notified of a decision as soon as all credentials have been received and evaluated. By May 1, students must submit a non-refundable confirmation deposit of $300 to hold a place in the class, and $250 to reserve a room in the residence hall. The I-20 form will not be issued until the confirmation deposit has been received.
