James ODonohue

James O'Donohue, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, FAFS is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Alvernia University and a Berks county resident since achieving his undergraduate degree in physical therapy. Jim joins Alvernia with over 30 years of clinical experience. He is excited to join the dynamic team of physical therapy educators here at Alvernia.

Dr. O’Donohue is a graduate of Boston University achieving a BS in Physical Therapy in 1985. He has worked in the realm of out-patient orthopedic physical therapy, achieving his Orthopedic Specialization through the American Board of PT Specialties in 2002. He earned his Athletic Training License in 1992 and has experience in managing injuries and post-surgical conditions in the active population. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Temple University in 2007. As a Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute for Functional Transformation in 2008 he has specialized training in the treatment of lower kinetic chain conditions through a functional rehabilitation approach. He has been a clinical educator of physical therapy students since early in his career and has lectured locally to his colleagues on numerous occasions over the years.

Jim’s clinical focus is in the area of orthopedics, sports and lower extremity dysfunction. He assists in the instruction of orthopedic and foundational content to the students in the DPT program here at Alvernia University.
