The dates for 2016 New Student Orientation are Thursday, August 18th to Monday, August 22nd.
It is required that all students (commuters and residents) be present for all five of these important days, so please be sure to arrange your work schedules, vacations, family gatherings and other commitments accordingly.
This is only an overview; you will receive more information regarding Orientation in a July mailing. Additionally, a more detailed schedule will be provided at New Student Orientation check-in.

Friday, August 19th
Your attendance is required from 8:00 am until 7:30 pm with optional fun events, to follow from 7:30 pm until midnight.
Saturday, August 20th
At 10am, Students in majors requiring a Biology placement test (Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Pre-Nursing, & Nursing) will take this test . All students are required to be present for the activities starting at 11am and continuing until 4pm. There will also be more, fun optional events after 4pm.
Sunday, August 21st
Upper-class resident students move in. There will be more, fun optional activities around campus!
Monday, August 22nd
The normal class schedule is adjusted in order for all students to attend the Mass of the Holy Spirit.
This Mass traditionally opens the school year, and will be a teaching Mass for all members of the Alvernia community.
Other Important Information:
New students will participate in a Day of Service during the second day or Orientation. Students are advised to wear long pants, and closed-toed shoes.
When arriving on campus during move-in please make sure your bright colored sheet (that you will receive in the mail) is on your dashboard so that we can direct you to the appropriate parking place.
Residential students should use the labels provided in the mailing to label all of their belongings.
