Health & Wellness Update

Health authorities anticipate novel H1N1 flu (aka swine flu) will be widespread this fall. The expectation is that this flu will hit prior to the seasonal flu season which usually runs December through April. One of the groups more likely to contract the new virus is young people aged 18-24. Most people who have become ill with this new virus have recovered without requiring medical treatment.

We hope to soon have information regarding H1N1 vaccinations and encourage good hand washing, respiratory etiquette and self-isolation for those students, faculty, and staff who have fevers and other symptoms of the flu.
