For more than 50 years, Alvernia has been providing a dynamic environment for students and community members to experience arts and cultural events. Whether through student performances, visiting lecturers, featured faculty presentations or guest artists, the arts have been alive at Alvernia!
Visual and performing arts events are popular with patrons of all ages. The new Miller Art Gallery showcases a mix of works from The Reading Public Museum and Alvernia artists. The gallery promises to feature some of the most interesting creative work in the area.
Cultural experiences at Alvernia inspire audiences to dream and discover new horizons. Whether you like musical performances, live bands, or storytellers the cultural events have something for everyone.
The dynamic speakers and panel discussions in our line up for the 2012-2013 season highlight topics of national importance and regional interest. Our annual Lecture Series and Literary Festival feature world-class presenters, providing
outstanding access to extraordinary learning experiences.
Theater performances will bring the new Francis Hall Theater and Recital Hall to life. Performances include those from our extraordinary Alvernia students and professional acting groups.
The Lit Fest is packed with many unique events including entertainment, award-winning authors, and workshops. All events are hosted by Alvernia University at the Reading campus and are free and open to the public.
We invite everyone to participate in university events, theatre performances and lectures hosted throughout the year. You can find a full list of Arts and Culture events in the Community Calendar to the right.
