Job Summary:

The Assistant Director is responsible for recruitment of adult education students and promoting enrollment for all adult education programs at the Reading Campus and oversight of adult recruitment at Center locations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Recruiting and counseling potential adult education students. 
  • Responding to all adult program leads and fully executing the divisional communication plan. 
  • Recruitment responsibilities include; participation in adult education admissions events (open houses, information sessions, etc.) and representing the institution at college/transfer fairs, employment expos, campus recruitment opportunities and related events. 
  • Application responsibilities include; overseeing the admissions and administrative processing of all application materials and providing guidance to adult education program applicants.
  • Manage and coach assigned students from the point of application to first registration.
  • Possess thorough understanding of Alvernia program knowledge, policies, procedures, and systems to effectively and accurately guide prospective students
  • Collaborate with program faculty to enhance the admissions experience.
  • Supervise, train, and coach AE Enrollment Coordinator(s) at Center locations.
  • Be highly visible and dynamic through a high volume of interactions with our adult applicants by phone, video conferencing, text, and email on a regular and consistent basis
  • Accurately document, maintain, and track all prospective student interactions, information, and progression through the Customer Relations Management (SLATE) system
  • Provide comprehensive responses to prospective student questions regarding transfer credit, transcripts, document tracking and other records being sent to the university
  • Review and evaluate all transcripts of incoming adult students, review course descriptions, and get approval from departments, implement PLA as a recruitment tool.
  • Contribute to individual, team, and unit goals on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to ensure new and returning student growth targets are met
  • Maintain productivity of 80% or higher, meet speed to response goals and demonstrate high quality applicant service throughout all student interactions
  • Provide students with available tools and resources by anticipating needs through consultative conversations
  • Serve as primary adult education enrollment contact to implement and maintain off-site partnership development.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Commitment to the mission statement, core values and goals of Alvernia University.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate technical academic information to nontechnical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and mastery of CRM/SIS/CAS.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act requirements.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment while representing and interacting with multiple constituencies.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Attendance is required in order to perform the duties of this job.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Evening and weekend work responsibilities are essential with regular scheduling flexibility required.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
