“The Revolutionists”, a play by Lauren Gunderson, is a fast-paced comedy set during the Reign of Terror in Paris. The play follows four women, the ex-queen Marie Antoinette, the playwright Olympe de Gouges, the activist Marianne Angelle and the fiery “Angel of Assassination” Charlotte Corday, three of whom are based on real historical figures. Looming over them all is the specter of Madam Guillotine, a silent member with a large presence. The Alvernia Theatre production provides a live soundtrack for their struggles with violinist Madeleine Braun. Please join Kennedy Jones, Aniela Verbin, Allison Walker, and Danielle Brooks for a modern look at life during the French Revolution.
