Minor in Community and Environmental Sustainability


The Minor in Community and Environmental Sustainability is intended to supplement any major at Alvernia, establishing connections across disciplines and preparing students to incorporate sustainable thinking and practices into a variety of future careers.  This minor also provides a natural link to Alvernia’s Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) Community Leadership Program emphasizing leadership for sustainable communities.

 

Required coursework:

  • BIO 203 Biosphere 
  • BIO 230 Sustainability Principles & Practices
  • BIO 340 Sustainability Field Experience


Elective coursework:

  • Nine more credits will be chosen from among the following three areas: (a) Science-Environmental, (b) Socio-cultural, and (c) Business-Economics.
