Requirements

Major & Minor Requirements:

Major (54 credits): A grade of “C” or higher is required in all Addictions and Mental Health Treatment courses.

Required Core Courses (36 credits): BH 201, 202, 204, 230, 303, 305, 310, 330, 404*, 405*, 406*, 407*. (*Students will be required to complete 4 100-hour, 3-credit practicum field placements)

Major Electives (9 credits): 3 courses may be chosen from Addictions and Mental Health Treatment, Criminal Justice, Psychology or Social Work (6 credits must be at 300-400 level).

Related Area (9 credits): PSY 101, 208, 215

Minor (21 credits): BH 201, 202, 204, 303, 310, and 2 Addictions and Mental Health Treatment electives.

Certificate Program (21 credits): BH 201, 202, 204, 303, 310, and 2 Addictions and Mental Health Treatment electives.

The Addictions and Mental Health Treatment Program also requires that students complete a Child Abuse Clearance, a PA Criminal Record Check and an FBI clearance including fingerprinting. An arrest and/or conviction may/may not prohibit a student from participating in Practicum coursework, gaining future employment or continuing in graduate work toward licensure.
