Superintendent K-12 Requirements for Position

Pennsylvania provides two means for individuals to qualify for the positions of superintendent and assistant superintendent in Pennsylvania public schools.  Both positions are commissioned officers and subject to the provisions of Certification and Staffing Policy Guidelines document #96.  The attached documents provide the links and information necessary to complete the PDE requirements and application process.

  • School Superintendent Assessment (6021)
    Effective December 1, 2012 all candidates applying for a Letter of Eligibility need to complete and pass the ETS School Superintendent Assessment.  The link provided provides test, registration, and cost information.
  • Teacher Information Management System (TIMS)
    Candidates applying for the Letter of Eligibility should complete the application through the TIMS site.
