Internships
Internships provide students with practical knowledge of professional environments within their majors, offer networking opportunities, and the chance to clarify their choice of major. They are an invaluable way to gain work experience required by employers in a competitive job market!Students may start an internship the summer beginning their junior year. The career services office assists students in researching and applying for internships, but students must meet with their academic advisor to discuss the specific major academic requirements and to obtain any required forms before applying for an internship position. In some cases, it is even possible to create your own internship position with proper approvals.

- College Central is a comprehensive intern and job-posting site for Alvernia University. Be sure to register as a student or alumni, and log into Student Central.
- Looking for tips on how to land that great internship? Visit VAULT: a giant library with over 600 guides for everything you need to jumpstart your career or internship. (Use your Alvernia email address as your password, or call 610- 796-8225 for help connecting to VAULT.)
- Berks Works is a Berks County employer based internship list. (Call Career Services at 610-796-8225 for the password.
- Print resources and employer lists are also available in the Career Services office, Bernardine Hall, Suite 1104. Some internships are available through your academic major department office. See your major’s bulletin board or visit your advisor.
