St. Francis Month
Throughout the month of October, Campus Ministry, along with the entire Alvernia community, celebrates our Franciscan heritage by designating it “St. Francis Month.” The tradition started because the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi is October 4, and one day is just not enough to celebrate the patron saint of Alvernia!
Campus Ministry offers a wide variety of activities and programs during the month, based around Alvernia’s core values of contemplation, service, humility, peacemaking, and collegiality. Come join Campus Ministry as we celebrate St. Francis throughout October!
Blessing of the Animals
Join us for a celebration of all of God's creatures--fuzzy, furry, scaly, and more--as we remember St. Francis' love for all creation. Hear East Side Dave perform his "Critter Music" followed by a blessing for our animals.
St. Francis Mass
St. Anthony Scavenger Hunt
Join the hunt! Take pictures, collect items for points and to donate to the Opportunity House and Mary's Home. Gift Card prizes are awarded to the top teams.
Francis Inn Soup Kitchen
Live, serve, and pray at this Franciscan Soup Kitchen in downtown Philadelphia. This is an eye-opening weekend immersion.
Interfaith Peace Breakfast
Breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day, it is also a good time to pray for peace with the Alvernia community and religious leaders from Berks County.
