Romero Center in Camden, NJ

Spend
a weekend with Campus Ministry at the Romero Center in Camden, NJ,
learning about urban poverty in the United States. This weekend-long
immersion in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the U.S. will not only
educate students about the realities of poverty but also give them to
opportunity to work with local service agencies and participate in

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
November 14-20, 2010
Join
Campus Ministry for a week of events to educate the Alvernia community
about the realities of hunger and homelessness in Reading, the United
States, and around the world. Events include a prayer service, Hunger
Banquet, service opportunity at the Kennedy House Soup Kitchen, art
exhibit and presentation by a homeless man, and a day of fasting.
School of the Americas (SOA) Protest
November 19-21, 2010

with Alvernia Campus Ministry to the gates of Fort Benning, GA, to join
tens of thousands of others from across the nation to protest the
School of the Americas (now called WHINSEC). The School of the
Americas has been training Latin American soldiers for over 50 years,
and its graduates have committed some of the worst atrocities in Latin
American history, including the assassination of Archbishop Oscar
Romero, the killings of the six Jesuits and their housekeepers in El
