Dear Parents,
This year we are celebrating our 40th birthday and in those 40 years our school has been at a few different locations. Our first location was in Francis Hall at Alvernia University. We moved to West Reading back in the late 1960s and then settled into our home at our convent near Alvernia University for over 30 years. When the Bernardine Sisters renovated the convent we had to find a new home. We have been truly blessed to be housed at Sacred Heart for the past six years.
This past year we learned that we might have the opportunity to move to St. Anthony’s School building, which is being vacated by LaSalle. This location is close to campus and to our convents. It opens up opportunities for Alvernia students to student teach and for students in other academic disciplines to intern with us. There are many positive reasons that this move will be good for our program.
At this time we are in communication with St. Anthony’s and working out the details of this possible lease. It is our hope that you will be with us at this potential new location. If you have any concerns about the change of location please feel free to talk with any of our faculty.
If this move does come to be, we will also work with the University to develop an after-school care program for the children. I know that this will be a necessary addition to our program. We have no definite program at the moment but I will do my best to develop it.As always, my door is open to you if you have any questions or concerns.
