The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to an alumna/alumnus of Leadership Berks in recognition for distinguished volunteer service and support for Leadership Berks programs. The award recipient’s personal and professional accomplishments exemplify excellence in leadership, exceptional community leadership, and extraordinary commitment to community engagement and service to others.
Originally from Rochester, NY Dominic Rinaudo moved to Reading upon completion of his Engineering degree at Clarkson University. He worked in the semiconductor and fiber-optic fields at Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent, Agere and TriQuint. In 2004, he joined Arrow International, now Teleflex Inc., as an Engineer in their R&D department.
While at AT&T, Dominic was a member of the AT&T Future Pioneers where he volunteered at Nursing Home Bingos, Special Olympics and Easter Seals events. At AT&T he joined a 25-member Clown unit and became “Bingo the Clown”. As a member of this prestigious clown ensemble, he participated in local parades, walk-a-thons, Special Olympics events & hospital visits.
Dominic was selected by Arrow International’s leadership team to enroll in Leadership Berks in 2007. As a member of his class, Dominic assumed leadership roles as the class photographer and class agent.
Upon graduation, Dominic was nominated to and accepted a post as Communications Chair on the Alumni Council. He recruited several future alumni, including his wife Eileen, Class of 2008. Dominic is a strong supporter of all Leadership Berks events including Graduations, Spring Socials, Board and Volunteer Community Placements, Alumni Retreats, and Serve and Learn events.
Since graduating from Leadership Berks, Dominic has served on Habitat for Humanity committees and has been an active board member for the past 3 years supporting fundraising activities, special events and home dedications.
