A New Home
In 2009, Alvernia Montessori signed a lease for the empty St. Anthony of Padua School in Milmont. This gives the school the opportunity to be closer to the Alvernia campus and use the resources that the University offers, including interning students in the educational disciplines.
The Philosophy
The Montessori philosophy is contingent on the Multiple Intelligences Theory, in which children do not only learn by reading and writing. The school uses stories, Montessori materials, diverse cultural items, and traditional tools as learning vessels. Montessori students actively participate in planning their time and taking responsibility for their work.
