BODY OF THE PAPER:


  • The body of the paper runs continuously from the Introduction to the Discussion. 
  • Include the title at the top of the page, exactly as it appears on the title page.  Center and properly capitalize the title.
  • Start the body of the paper two lines below the title.
  • Double-space the body of the text and indent when starting a new paragraph.
  • Center the heading of each section of the paper using uppercase and lowercase letters.

Effects of Exercise on State Anxiety

     Stressful events have become common occurrences in

modern society. The results are increased feelings of stress

and anxiety that have detrimental effects on both physical

and mental health, leading to conditions such as depression,

anxiety, heart disease, and high blood pressure. The

American College of Sports Medicine recommends that

people perform a total of 30 minutes of exercise each day,

which can assist in combating daily stressors (ACSM, 2000).












 

 

LEVELS OF HEADING:


There are five possible levels of heading in APA journals:

Level 5 - CENTERED UPPERCASE HEADING

Level 1 - Centered Uppercase and Lowercase Heading

Level 2 - Centered, Italicized, Uppercase and Lowercase Heading

Level 3 - Flush left, Italicized, Uppercase and Lowercase Side Heading

          Level 4 - Indented, italicized, lowercase paragraph heading ending with a period.

Two levels of heading meet the requirements for many articles in APA journals. Level 1 and 3 headings are recommended:
