Campus Print Program

Print ProgramOverview

The Campus Print Program (CPP) was introduced in the fall of 2015.

What was the rationale behind developing a print program for the University?

In the midst of the “digital age” with the perceived promise of the “paperless office” delivered via computer-based alternatives to paper, we knew:

  • Consumption of paper has been increasing in support of our academic endeavors and business operations
  • Student usage of University print facilities is increasing
  • Use of color printing is increasing (at higher cost)
  • Maintenance costs associated with owned devices continues to increase annually
  • Management of printing is decentralized

After reviewing our findings we outlined the Campus Print Program. The goals of the CPP are several-fold:

  • Achieve cost savings for the University
  • Centrally manage all MFPs, network and local print devices and costs for print
  • Educate community on print and sustainability
  • Refresh entire MFP and network printer fleet, moving to current technology
  • Improve service and tracking of all network and MFP devices
  • Reduce the number of local printers so print will go to more cost effective devices
