Alvernia Student

Philadelphia Campus

Our Philadelphia Center has been in operation since fall of 1997. Approximately 250 graduate and undergraduate students attend classes here studying in the following programs:

Bachelor of Arts Degree completion in:
Criminal Justice Administration
Advanced Professional Studies
Behavioral Health Studies

Bachelor of Science Degree completion in:
Computer Systems Management

Graduate Degrees in:
Master of Arts in Liberal Studies
Master of Arts in Community Counseling

Our facility includes eight classrooms and a computer lab in our building, plus four more classrooms in an adjoining building for Alvernia’s ESL program.

Classes are offered in the evenings and on Saturdays. We also hold some morning classes to accommodate adults who work in the evenings.

Many of our faculty members also teach full-time at some of the region’s most prestigious institutions: the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Fordham University, LaSalle University, The Hahneman University Medical School, Villanova, Widener University School of Law,  Rutgers University School of Pharmacy and Science, Temple University School of Law.

In addition, we have instructors with valuable real-world experience teaching in our programs, including professionals from the Philadelphia court system, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Philadelphia Police Department (including a chief inspector), and other attorneys and police officers.

We graduate approximately sixty students each year from our undergraduate degree completion programs or from our graduate programs.

We have articulation agreements with several colleges in the Philadelphia area which makes transferring credits easy. Our accelerated programs can be completed in 18 months time. Undergraduate areas of study are accelerated programs being offered in seven week modules.

The Philadelphia Center location is ideal for all students--with public transportation stopping right at our door and plenty of free parking nearby.

Why not consider studying at the Philadelphia Center? Our small class sizes and staff and talented instructors are readily available and committed to your success!
