Network & Email Access

To access most campus computer you will need a user name and password. This login information will also allow you to access your Alvernia email account.

Your username is the first four letters of your last name (all in lower case) and the last 4 digits of your 9-digit student ID.

e.g., If David Peterson's student ID is 000012345, his login is "pete2345".

The first time you login your password will be the same as your username. You will then be prompted to change the password as you wish.

WebCT

WebCT is course management tool used in conjunction with your class. Your professor may ask you to submit papers through WebCT, participate in discussions and chats, or even take a quiz/test on WebCT.

To access WebCT please click here. Your login and password are similar to your network login.

IQ.Web

IQ.Web is a web-based system that enables students to view their grades, schedule, and current balance online. It also provides students with the ability to register for courses online.

To login to IQ. Web for the first time:
1) Go to the Alvernia web site at www.alvernia.edu. Click on IQ button in the lower left-hand corner of the main Alvernia page, or click on Current Students then click on IQ.Web in the left column. Or click here to start now.

2) Click on the Request Access on the left side of the screen.

3) Click on Current Members of Alvernia College without IQ.Web Access.

4) Enter your Last Name.

5) In the System ID field enter your 9 digit student ID#, including the leading zeroes. Hint: look at your Alvernia ID card to find your student ID#. If there are 10 digits, leave off the last number.

6) Enter your Birth Date in the following format: MM/DD/YYYY (ex. 02/04/1985)

7) In the Nickname field, enter your name or nickname (optional)

8) Enter your e-mail Address.

9) Your IQ. Web Login ID must follow this syntax: the first four (4) letters of your last name and the last four (4) digits of your student ID (ex: John Smith 000012345 = Smit2345).

10) Your password must consist of at least 5 characters that you will remember (letters are case sensitive).

11) Enter a password hint that can be emailed to you if you forget your password (ex. “my dog’s name”).

12) Click the Request Account button on the bottom of the page. (It’s OK to leave “Guest Access” checked.)

13) If the next page tells you there is an error and you can’t tell what went wrong, call Administrative Computing at 610.796.8383 or 610.796.8287.
