Graduate Assistant – Educational Technology

Start Date:  Immediately

Part-Time - Year Round - 20 Hours Per Week

The student must be enrolled full-time during the Fall and Spring Semesters.

Summary of Duties:

    • The incumbent in this position works under the supervision of the Educational Technology Operations Coordinator by assisting with the following:
    • Responsible for assisting in developing, producing and distributing audio/video/graphic content for faculty and students.
    • Responsible for overseeing Media Suite technologies including inventory management, reservations, troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Responsible for assisting in developing and distributing instructional materials in support of online and on campus programs
    • Responsible for assisting in training of Blackboard, Camtasia, Respondus, Panopto, Turnitin, Zoom and other online technologies
    • Researching and data collecting of online learning resources.
    • Assist in overseeing Student Workers and preparing daily workflows
    • Assist with daily office responsibilities including database maintenance, filing, copying, phones, guest and vendor reception, etc.
    • Assist with answering phones and help desk support tickets
    • Provide professional representation of Educational Technology department
    • Pitch in whenever a crisis strikes
    • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree and current enrollment in an Alvernia graduate program
    • Be familiar with Blackboard and Microsoft Office and be open to learning new media skills and programs
    • Excellent communication and project management skills
    • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
    • Ability to prioritize work, manage time, and multitask appropriately
    • Ability to function autonomously and as a member of a team
    • Ability to role model appropriate behavior
    • Proven PC and MAC skills
    • Lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Flexible schedule, to allow for frequent evening/weekend work
    • Collaborative working style

Recommended Skills:

    • Experience with Media Suite operations such as editing images, creating and editing audio/video podcasts and using Adobe software
    • Experience with video and digital camera operations
    • Familiarity with posting digital content online using social media
    • Experience in overseeing and managing multiple projects at once
