Learning Center Peer Tutor Level 1

Responsibilities include:

  • Tutor students one-on-one (and sometimes small groups) in only the subjects approved to tutor
  • Keep accurate records of tutoring sessions via the conference summary form and log notes into TutorTrac.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Academic Learning Specialist of the Learning Center and Grad Assistants that help promote the Learning Center and keep it running smoothly
  • Help students log in and out of the system
  • Assist the professional staff of the Educational Planning suite with projects as assigned (mailings, copying, filing, preparing for events, etc.)
  • Help students using the Learning Center computers with simple computer tasks as needed (logging in, printing, etc.)
  • Attend staff meetings periodically
  • Help keep the LC a welcoming environment by keeping it professional at all times
  • Complete at least 10 hours of CRLA tutor training, annually

Job qualifications:

  • A grade of B or better in the subject to be tutored
  • GPA of 3.0 overall and 3.5 in the major
  • Two faculty recommendations
  • In good standing with the university
