Dr. Donna Yarri is an associate professor of theology, and chairperson of the department of the Humanities. She completed her B.A. at Queens College in New York, her M.Div. at Alliance Theology Seminar in NYack, NY, and her Ph.D. at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Her doctoral work focused on Religious, particularly Christian, ethics, and her dissertation, entitled The Ethics of Animal Experimentation, was published by Oxford University Press in 2005. She regularly teaches in the areas of medical ethics and global issues. Her research interests include the ethical treatment of animals, religion and popular culture, and issues of social justice. She regularly presents at national academic conferences, has published several articles, and is under contract currently to co-author a book entitled God, Science, and Designer Genes.
