Dr. Stichler is a professor of philosophy. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Georgetown University and M.S. in information science from Drexel University.
Dr. Richard Stichler authors a philosophy web page. His book, Ethics, Information and Technology (McFarland, 1998), was described by the journal Public Libraries as "a major contribution to the growing body of literature that seeks to define and expand information age paradigms."
Dr. Stichler has presented papers and published articles on ancient and medieval philosophy, political philosophy, and professional ethics. He is a member of the American Association of University Professors national committee on professional ethics and president of the association's Pennsylvania Division.
