Dr. Silver received his BA and MA in Psychology from Bucknell University in 1973 and 1977 and his MBA in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988. He earned his Ph.D. in Community Systems Planning & Development from The Pennsylvania State University in 1981.
Dr. Silver has also participated in coursework and seminars in Sampling Methods and Statistical Analysis at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Customer Research Theory and Methods at the University of Georgia and Focus Group Research Methods at the University of Delaware.
Prior to joining the faculty at Alvernia College, Dr. Silver has taught a variety of social science courses at Albright, Gettysburg and Penn State.
Professionally, Dr. Silver has established a national practice in market research working with a variety of research corporations and he has held a variety of executive and management positions while working at GPU Energy.
Dr. Silver maintains a professional affiliation with the American Marketing Association and he has had community service experiences with United Way and Goodwill. He currently serves as a member of the Zoning Hearing Board of Mohnton Borough.
