  • Gerontology - issues related to older adults, especially those living in nursing homes
  • Gender - particularly as it relates to a strength perspective

Dr. Hay presnts her scholarly work at least once or twice each year, for examples go to AM.B.K.
Dr. Hay has completed an empirical study entitled "Autobiographical writing with oriented nursing home residents". She presents her work to varied audiences including professional conference attendees, senior center participants, and members of religious institutions.

Pedagogical Interests

Professor Hays interest include enhancing professional and personal student growth by continual professor-student interaction; and continual technological learning.

On June 6, 2008, she and adjunct faculty members, Barbe Fogarty, will present, Social JUstice in Our Contemporary World, at the AFCU 2008 Franciscan Symposium.
