Professor Dreibelbis received his BS in accounting
and a M.Ed., Business from Bloomsburg University. He is a Certified
Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Manager (CFM)
with a Program
Specialist
Certification in Computer Literacy from the PA Department of Education.
In addition, Professor Dreibelbis has professional experience in
banking and the automotive industry. He has been teaching at Alvernia
College since 1987 and served as
Department
Chair from
1999 to
2003. In 1988, he founded Alvernia's award-winning Phi Beta Lambda
(Future Business Leaders) Chapter and has served as the chapter's
advisor since inception.
Publications that have printed his articles include:
Strategic Finance in 2002, Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal
in 2002, The Business Leader, Business Observer, Business Exchange,
and the Balance Sheet from 1982-1995. He authored professional
manuscripts for the Reading IMA Chapter in 1996 and 1999, and was
awarded the chapter's Manuscript Award for both years.
Professor Dreibelbis has received awards from
the Pennsylvania Business Education Association for Pennsylvania
Post-Secondary
Educator of the Year in 2000. Also in 2007 and 2000, he received the Reading
IMA Chapter Award for Outstanding, Dedicated Service. In 1992,
1996, 1999, and 2005, he received the Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda
Advisor of the Year Award. Alvernia College presented him with
the Saint Bernardine Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1997 and the Outstanding Student Advisor Award in 2006.
In addition, he has received the Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda Service
Award and the Harry S. Gross Award for Outstanding Service to the
Reading IMA Chapter.
Professional affiliations have included the Board
of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants and the
Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles; Board of Trustees, Hafer
Foundation; American Society for Training & Development;
Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda; Business Support Network; Pennsylvania
Future Business Leaders of America;the Pennsylvania State Education
Association (PSEA); the National Education Association (NEA); the
Pennsylvania Business Education Association (PBEA); and the AACA
National Museum at Hershey.
