Bio

Travis A. Berger grew up in Berks County, graduating from Wilson H.S. where he led the soccer team to the school’s first team state championship in 1992. He earned a full scholarship to PSU for soccer and went on to win the Big Ten Championship in 1993, earned All Big Ten 1st Team and Academic All-American recognition in 1995, was named team captain his senior year, and led the program to a number four ranking in the nation during his tenure. Recognizing his academic excellence, outstanding leadership, and athletic achievements while at PSU, Mr. Berger was tapped to become a member of the prestigious Skull & Bones Senior Honor Leadership Society in 1997. After graduating from PSU with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Sociology, Mr. Berger stayed involved in sport at various levels serving in different capacities-- he was a professional athlete; he coached the u-15 Olympic Development Team to the National Final Four in Las Vegas in 2004, which had two players that were in the National Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida; and he owned and served as the Executive Vice President of Reading Berks United, Inc., a youth soccer club that served 250 athletes, which is now the BSA/Reading Rage Soccer Academy--thus exposing him to the vast opportunities in sport management.

In 2002 Mr. Berger became the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Alvernia College where he earned his M.Ed. in 2005. Currently, Mr. Berger is the Site Coordinator for the Sovereign Bank Sports Complex, the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, and the Coordinator of the Sport Management Program. As a result of his vast background in sport, Mr. Berger has a unique perspective and real experiences related to youth sport, collegiate athletics, professional sport, sport camps, and the challenges presented when owning and running a sport business, including but not limited to sport marketing and sport finance.
