We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric; Writing; English or related fields with evidence of quality teaching experience among diverse learners as well as scholarly productivity. Responsibilities include providing leadership for a renewed emphasis on undergraduate and graduate-level writing across the university, teaching Composition and Research for first-year undergraduates as part of the Core Curriculum, and teaching literature or communication. Additional areas in distance education pedagogy or English as a Second Language (ESL) are desirable.

Preferred candidates will have a specialty in American Government with a policy background as well as expertise in statistical methodology and/or economics. Interest in public service and leadership is desirable. The successful candidate will enjoy teaching undergraduates and graduate students and engage in service to the university.
The Department of Psychology & Counseling at Alvernia University is accepting applications for a term-contract Assistant Professor of Psychology and Counseling beginning fall 2014. The position is for one year with expected renewal. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses and serving as Clinical Coordinator in the Master of Arts in Community Counseling program in Philadelphia. We seek candidates with a Ph.D./Ed.D. in counselor education (preferably from a CACREP- accredited program) as well as evidence of quality teaching experience and scholarly productivity. Licensure as a professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is expected.

The Nursing Department is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position with clinical expertise and teaching experience in community health or acute care nursing. Candidates must hold or be nearing completion of doctoral studies with either a research or practice focus. A MSN and RN License (or eligibility) for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are required. Teaching assignments may include traditional day, graduate and adult accelerated courses, off-site, and online/blended delivery formats.
The Business Department is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position with experience teaching undergraduate and MBA level courses in the area of Accounting. Qualified candidates must hold a current CPA license and/or CMA designation. Preferred qualifications include doctoral degree appropriate to business professionals and a demonstrated record of scholarship. Teaching assignments may include traditional day, graduate and adult evening accelerated courses, offsite, and online/blended delivery formats.
Instructor or Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy, 3-year term contract. Seeking candidate with the ability to teach a variety of occupational therapy courses at the graduate level. Must be Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of PA with Master’s Degree and have five years of clinical experience. Preferred qualifications include doctoral degree, NBCOT certification and teaching experience.
