College of Professional Programs:

Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Seeking New Core Faculty-

The Alvernia University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position to begin Fall 2018. Physical Therapy Licensure in the Commonwealth of PA is required (or eligibility to apply and receive licensure).  An academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., EdD, Dsc) is required. A demonstrated agenda of scholarly activity, academic teaching experience, and commitment to service is expected.

  • Candidates should also possess an understanding of research methodology.
  • Candidates must possess clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas: anatomy and physiology, human development, foundational sciences, administration and management.

The AU DPT Program is in the pre-accreditation phase with initial accreditation anticipated in the Spring of 2018. The Program offers a curriculum that is learner-directed, professionally-based, service-oriented, and competency-driven.  The Program and University are committed to developing graduates who are prepared "To Learn, To Love and To Serve."

College of Arts and Sciences:

Assistant or Associate Professor of Counselor Education-

The Department of Psychology & Counseling is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Counselor Education beginning August 2018.  Primary responsibilities include serving as a Program Coordinator and CACREP liaison, as well as teaching in the Master of Arts in the Clinical Counseling program at the main campus in Reading and Philadelpha Center.  Other reponsicilities include working with enrollment and admissions, advising students, mentoring faculty, assuring quality and coordinating clinical experiences.  The Program Coordinator works closely with the department chair and two deans.  This is a nine-month faculty position with additional summer expectations and compensation.    

  • Candidates should posses a doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program
  • Candidates must be able to present evidence of quality teaching experience and scholarly productivity
  • Liscensure as a professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is expected
